We identify potential contractors and specialists, assess each against what the project actually needs, and introduce only those that appear relevant.
Assessment per requirement, not an approved list
There is no pre-approved panel that every enquiry is matched against. A firm that suits one project may not suit the next, so each search is carried out for the requirement in front of us.
Where we have existing relationships we draw on them, but no firm is presented as verified or endorsed by Epelle & Co.
Initial assessment of potential fit
Our assessment is an initial view of whether a firm may suit the requirement. It is not a certification, approval or guarantee. Relevant factors vary by project and may include:
- Scope and type of work, and comparable projects the firm shows publicly
- Typical value range and whether this project sits comfortably within it
- Geography and the firm’s usual working area in London
- Current capacity relative to the intended programme
- Insurance cover the firm states it holds
- Trade accreditations or memberships the firm states it holds
- Whether references can be provided on request
Evidence requested or reviewed
Where relevant, we may ask a firm for evidence such as insurance documents, accreditation details, project examples or references, and note what has been provided. Reviewing evidence a firm supplies is not the same as independently verifying it.
Verification by the appointing client
Verification is carried out by the appointing client and their professional advisers. The decision to appoint, and the terms of appointment, are the client’s. We encourage clients to confirm insurance and accreditations directly, take up references, and seek independent professional advice on contracts, costs and design where appropriate.
Epelle & Co. does not carry out construction work, issue instructions to contractors or administer contracts.
